Instead of overfilling your compost bin, you can now divert all your bulky debris – thatch, hedge trimmings, lawn clippings, leaf clutter – into a system that will contain of the waste until ready for harvest. Simply carry empty bags to your waste pile, fill to capacity, and then pile up the closed bags in a corner of the yard to cook. To optimize the composting conditions, occasionally turn and water the stack of bags. A tarp cover helps to retain heat in the winter months. Constructed from Coolaroo® – a heavy-duty, weather and sun resistant fabric designed for outdoor use – this breathable fabric allows water and air to pass, preventing the build up of liquids or foul odors. SUPERIOR COMPOSTING
Breathable fabric mesh is ventilated by design, allowing air and oxygen to permeate all parts of the active pile, even the hard-to-reach core. Aerobic conditions translate as no vinegar or rotten egg smell. Spaces and crevices are created naturally due to the contoured shape of the bag, ensuring self-aeration with minimal turning labor. The material is water permeable, so rainfall and hose water are easily absorbed by thirsty compost. The moist, oxygenated environment will allow beneficial microorganisms to thrive while they digest your yard waste. To have a continuous supply of finished compost, simply start a new bag every other month and you will be able to add and harvest throughout the year.
CONVENIENT & PRACTICAL
Bags are completely bendable and easily piled on top of one another to maximize heat retention. Simply cover the stacked bags with a tarp and let them cook all winter (occasionally watering and flipping over). By spring you will have incredibly nutritious leaf compost – the perfect living mulch for your vegetables, shrubs and orchard. This method of composting is less messy because you can carry the bags right to the debris pile – gathering waste and applying finished compost is now portable. You may even use a large water receptacle like a youth pool or cattle trough to make your very own compost tea by dunking the whole bag into the container! Collapses flat when not in use for easy storage.
DURABLE MATERIALS
These compost bags are construction from commercial quality Coolaroo® outdoor fabric, developed specifically to withstand the harsh conditions of inclement weather and the changing seasons. Even with full sun exposure, the manufacturer offers a 10-year UV deterioration protection, ensuring a long life. Esthetically please color blends well in the landscape. Fabric is a hefty, lock stitch construction for superior impact and tear strength (though best to chop up long twigs to lessen the possibility of puncture). Seams are double stitched and made from a durable, weather resistant Tenara® thread, preventing bursts even when fully loaded with moist compost. Tough polypropylene drawsting bag straps are UV stabilized to ensure long life.
