Good aeration throughout is provided by screened, louvered vents that fit perfectly into the holes drilled by your 2” circular hole bit. Mesh insert covers several handfuls of locally obtained gravel with a sheet of landscape fabric as the topper to keep out particulates from the gravel area. This base design is critical for proper drainage, which keeps the bin aerobic and nose-friendly. Drain fitting is installed at the bottom (using the 5/8” paddle bit) allowing access to liquid tea, which is easily harvested with the included parts.
