Premier Aluminum Cold Frame w/ Auto Lid Opener
Expand your growing season several months by adding a few of these incredible cold frames to your garden environment. Developed and manufactured in Austria, these advanced systems sport a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame and shatter-resistant, 8 mm polycarbonate panels for long life. A proprietary, automated lid opener (adjustable and powered by solar energy) operates one of the three lid panels – it uses a heat-sensitive gel that expands as the temperature inside the cold frame rises, pushing open the attached pane. As temperatures fall, the pane closes. Two additional hinged, sloping lids operate independently and each features a pair of adjustable ventilators. Having 3 lid sections allows for more convenient access to plants, while helping to better regulate humidity and temperature inside the unit. An optional expansion unit allows the cold frame to increase the size by two lid panels. For maximum solar gain, place unit facing south in a sunny location with an east-west direction.
