- Plant a variety of climate-compatible cultivars and species in the same bag, so no pest or disease will impact the whole planter. Implement succession plantings by setting up two new planters every week for 6 weeks, so that you have a continuous supply of fresh greens for several months.
- The use of polyacrylamide such as Soil Moist and generous amounts of moisture retentive bedding materials such as compost or coir will help prevent planters from drying out too quickly. Add top mulch to assist with water retention. Don’t forget to label your salad greens!
