Soilmaker Soilsaver + Base Plate
The Soilmaker Soilsaver compost bin is a modern manifestation of a classic design that has wifthstood the test of time. This unit is ideal for the northern-tiered states because of its superior insulation characteristics. One of the few units that has a locking lid, the Soilmaker Soilsaver prevents unwanted access, while retaining internally generated heat. Because of its thick lid and insulated walls, this is one of the best systems for placement in the shade. The lid also has a built-in rainwater capture system allowing just the right amount of moisture to enter, without creates a swampy environment.

Made with the same heavy duty resin, the base plate was fabricated to help keep burrowing animals and rodents out of the compost pile. It is required by some municipalities. Please check with your city’s public works department for compost bin restrictions. The approx. size is 28” in both length and width. The two halves fasten easily together using hardware provided. The bin fits inside the raised lip on the outer most edge of the base. The entire accessory can ship inside the box at no additional charge.
