Deluxe VermiHut Stacking Worm Bin
The VermiHut used 5 vertically stackable, perforated trays to take advantage of the instinctual ability of redworms to constantly eat upwards. As worms finishing digesting in one tray, they will migrate into the interchangeable trays above, leaving behind rich castings for easy harvesting. The system is designed to allow for adequate air circulation, which helps maintain aerobic conditions. Odorless unit may be placed indoors or outside in a full shade area. Liquid catchment level collects effluent produced from the natural breakdown of food scraps. This ‘tea’ may be drained using the hand operated spigot, then diluted and utilized in the garden as a liquid soil amendment or foliar spray. A fully operational unit can house between 2000-2400 worms per tray and consume up to 1 lb of food scraps per day. Made in China from recycled materials.
